A Place at Teresa’s Table

There is something comforting about a table prepared with care.

A warm cup of coffee waits beside an open journal. Fresh flowers bring color to the room. Sunlight falls softly across the tabletop, and just beyond the window, birds gather near the feeder as another ordinary day begins.

Then there is the empty chair.

It is not forgotten or misplaced. It is waiting.

That chair is the heart of A Place at Teresa’s Table. It represents welcome, belonging, honest conversation, and the quiet reminder that there is room for one more story.

There is room for yours.

More Than an Empty Chair

When I imagined this scene, I did not want the empty chair to feel lonely. I wanted it to feel inviting—as though someone had pulled it away from the table and said, “Come sit with me for a while.”

Life can become so busy that we forget how meaningful it is to simply sit down together.

A table can be a place where meals are served, but it can also become a place where hearts are opened. It can hold laughter, tears, prayers, memories, difficult conversations, celebrations, creative ideas, and the simple comfort of knowing someone is listening.

At Teresa’s table, you do not need to arrive with a perfect story.

You do not have to pretend that every part of your life is neatly arranged.

You can come as you are—hopeful, tired, joyful, uncertain, creative, discouraged, grateful, or still trying to understand the season you are walking through.

The chair is waiting for the real you.

The Meaning Behind the Details

Every part of this image reflects something I hope to share through JustMamaTeresa.com.

The warm cup of coffee represents the comfort of slowing down. It is a reminder that we are allowed to pause before rushing into the demands of the day.

The open journal represents the stories we carry. Some are already written clearly in our memories. Others are still unfolding, one uncertain page at a time.

The Bible reflects the faith that has carried me through joyful seasons, painful seasons, and seasons when I had to begin again.

The laptop represents my love of writing, blogging, creating art, and turning meaningful images into reel videos filled with movement, light, and emotion.

The flowers symbolize beauty, growth, and the truth that something lovely can still bloom after a difficult season.

The birds outside the window represent the small gifts of everyday life—the moments we might miss when we are moving too quickly to notice them.

And the empty chair represents you.

A Table Filled With Faith and Creativity

Creativity has become one of the ways I process life and express what is in my heart.

Sometimes I begin with a Scripture verse. Sometimes inspiration comes from a garden, a bird at the feeder, a memory, a season of motherhood, or a feeling I cannot fully explain with words.

From there, an image begins to form.

A glowing pathway may become a symbol of hope.

A blooming flower may represent healing.

A quiet room may express rest.

A sunrise may remind us that God’s mercy meets us again each morning.

An empty chair may become an invitation to belong.

I love creating art that carries a message, and I enjoy turning those still images into reel videos where clouds move, sunlight shifts, flowers sway, water flows, and a quiet scene begins to feel alive.

These creative pieces are not simply decorations to me. They are another form of storytelling.

They allow me to share encouragement in a way that reaches both the eyes and the heart.

The Stories We Bring With Us

Every person who comes to the table carries a story.

Some stories are filled with happy memories and people we deeply love.

Others include loss, unanswered questions, disappointments, and chapters we did not choose.

Many of us carry both.

I come to this table as a wife, a mother, a daughter, an adoptee, a woman of faith, a writer, and a creator. I also come as someone who has lived through more than one season of starting over.

Those experiences have taught me that people do not always need someone who has all the answers.

Sometimes they simply need a safe place to be honest.

They need someone to say:

I hear you.

Your story matters.

You are not alone.

There is still beauty ahead.

That is the kind of place I hope this blog will become.

Finding Grace in Ordinary Days

We often imagine that the most meaningful parts of life will arrive in grand moments.

Sometimes they do.

But more often, meaning is found in the ordinary.

It is found in packing a lunch, washing another load of clothes, watering flowers, helping a child, checking on someone we love, saying a prayer, creating something beautiful, or watching sunlight move across the floor.

These moments may seem small, but they are the threads that hold a life together.

Faith is often lived quietly.

Love is often expressed through work that no one else notices.

Creativity often begins in an ordinary room with whatever we have available.

Healing often happens slowly, long before anyone else can see it.

A meaningful life is not always loud or impressive. Sometimes it looks like being faithful to the people, responsibilities, gifts, and opportunities already in front of us.

You Do Not Have to Have Everything Figured Out

One of the reasons I wanted an empty chair in this image is because I know how easy it is to believe we must have everything together before we are allowed to begin.

We tell ourselves that we will write when we feel more confident.

We will create when we have better tools.

And we will share our story when we understand every part of it.

Rest after every problem is solved.

We will begin again when we are certain we cannot fail.

But life rarely offers that kind of certainty.

Sometimes we begin while still feeling afraid.

Sometimes we create while still learning.

And sometimes we pray without knowing how the answer will come.

Sometimes we sit at the table carrying questions that have followed us for years.

Grace does not require us to arrive polished and complete.

It meets us where we are.

What I Hope to Share Here

At JustMamaTeresa.com, I hope to share the things that have shaped my life and continue to inspire me:

faith and encouragement, motherhood and family, personal reflections, adoption and identity, creativity, digital art, reel video creation, nature, home, healing, and the beauty found in everyday moments.

Some posts may be deeply personal.

Others may simply celebrate something cheerful or lovely.

There may be stories about beginning again, reflections inspired by Scripture, creative projects, lessons learned through motherhood, and reminders that our lives still hold purpose in every season.

I am not writing because I have mastered life.

I am writing because I have lived it.

And I am still learning, growing, creating, praying, and discovering new meaning in places I once overlooked.

There Is Room for Your Story

The table in this image belongs to Teresa, but the invitation is for everyone.

There is room for the woman who feels overlooked.

There is room for the mother who is tired.

And there is room for the creator who is afraid to share her work.

There is room for the person beginning again.

There is room for the one carrying questions about faith, identity, family, or belonging.

And there is room for the woman who simply needs a peaceful place to pause.

You do not have to explain everything before you sit down.

You do not have to earn your place.

The chair is already waiting.

Leaving a Little More Light

I do not know every place this blog will lead, but I know what I hope to leave behind.

I hope to leave encouragement for someone who needs it.

And I hope to create art that helps people pause and feel something meaningful.

I hope to share stories that remind others they are not alone.

I hope to honor motherhood, creativity, faith, and the quiet courage it takes to keep beginning again.

Most of all, I hope to leave a little more light than I found.

“With faith in my heart, creativity in my hands, and grace for every new season, I hope to leave a little more light than I found.”
